The earlier the better because then you will have the time to research the moving companies and schedule your move for the your desired day. We suggest at least a month in advance.
It is best that you get at least three moving quotes because that way you can compare moving companies and services rates. The more estimates you get the better idea you will have of how much your move may cost you.
When you call a mover, ask them for their DOT and MC license numbers. If they do not provide them run! The below links will take you to the Transportation Departments to check the license numbers they gave you.
Usually there is an initial charge (moving deposit) when you book your move and then when your goods are delivered, before movers start unloading you have to pay the rest. Stay away from companies that require big deposits in advance. The initial booking deposit should not be more than 20% from the estimated move cost.
The answer to that is sadly no. Everything must be removed from dressers, file cabinets, jewelry cases, safes etc.. The last thing you want is damage to your furniture because the weight load was to much to transport.
Most reputable moving companies disassemble and reassemble standard furniture for free. No, motorized beds are not considered standard. Furniture takes time to take apart and put back together properly. Anything that is not considered standard takes extra time which means added fees.
